Wayne Deckard: The cost of our snacks for the candy machine has gone up; we are losing a nickle for each one so when you buy one put an extra dime in the can in the pop case. If the coin box on the machine can be updated then we will do so; otherwise we'll take the machine out and sell candy on an honor basis like the soda pop.

Wayne Deckard: This is our last group meeting for the Affordabloe Flying open house. Do not mention military re-enactments or warbirds in the advertising or flyers. They have another event that day.

Michael Mossman: We need to contact Rollison in Bloomfield about participation.

Waye Deckard: All hangars are full and we have three on the waiting list.

Parking — Only members and volunteers will be able to park in the lot on the open house day. We will need to lock the gate.

Charles Westerfield: I may have only one golf cart available this year. The other needs a new battery. We may need to mark some of the parking spaces as handicapped. Maybe put up a sign at the gate that if they need handicapped parking assistance to call a number then we can let them in or send a golf cart to pick them up.

Michael Mossman: Can we have a tractor with a wagon to help move people?

Charles Westerfield: Too much liability. What if they fall off and get hurt?

Wayne Deckard: Will get sale bills printed to advertise the event.

Erick Roldan: Runway has cracks and needs to be repaired, etc.

Wayne Deckard: Runway will take ten volunteers, two days and a few thousand dollars to saw out defective spots and make proper repairs. We won't get that done in time for the open house. We will rent a sweeper to clean the runway.

Chuck Leucht: We need to contact the guy with the backpack parasail to do a demonstration.

Charles Westerfield: Will get his contact information through Mark Poliak.

Wayne Deckard: Will get tables, charis and porta potties delivered from same company as last year. We will need 16 tables and appropriate number of chairs.

Erick Roldan: Has four rolls of snow fence, will need assistance putting up a security fence.

Wayne Deckard: We will not have a rain day; everything to go on the event day, rain or shine.

Michael Mossman: Will write a letter to invite mayor, city council, county council, commissioners, sheriff, etc. to attend event.

Wayne Deckard: We need to request specifically that the sheriff's department participate in the event.

Randy Shrewsberry: Will contact local media.

Michael Jackson: DJ and radio?

Michael Mossman: Mike Jackson volunteered to locate a tent last month. I'll contact him to see if there is anything reasonable.

Wayne Deckard; Will contact Lafayette company for tent availability and price

Erick Roldan: Volunteers are same faces every week, every year.

Wayne Deckard: Since we are a not for profit organization, we can't show favoritism or grant special rate exemptions to members who volunteer over those who don't. There will always be those who will volunteer and those who rarely do and those who never will. It will always be that way. But for the first time now, since we are filled, we have a positive cash flow. If we have work to be done and we don't have volunteers to do it, we can hire it to be done.

Wayne Deckard: We need release forms on the ground signed by passengers. Erick will need to clear passengers before they get through the gate. We will need white boards for each pilot/plane so passengers can see when their turn is coming up.

Cleanup — We will need volunteers afterwards

Clean up of maintenance hangar will be Wednesday, June 18. No aircraft or other vehicles will be allowed in the maintenance hangar until after the event.

Wayne Deckard; Try to keep the trash barrels empty until the event so we aren't trying to get rid of a bunch of trash at the last minute.

We will need some new loads of gravel. Chad Williams to contact Larry Rogers?

Chuck Leucht: We need to tell the public about why we have the event.

Randy Shrewsberry: How about signs, maps and posters in the hangar showing locations of airport and businesses, etc.

Michael Mossman: I have a map but will need content to add to them.

Randy Shrewsberry: Will supply info for the signs and map

Jim Kouns: Do we need to change the name of the event? Our event this year is to keep a GA airport in Boone County.

Wayne Deckard: We can still be Affordable Flying.

Treasurer's Report: (Chad Williams email). We have $6,796.41 in the checking account; no metion of how much of this is owed for fuel or otherwise earmarked for something else.

Erick Roldan: Three new businesses are coming to the industrial park.

Roy Dawes: We also have new businesses all up and down the I-65 corridor. The folks fly in to run their businesses and would rather land at Boone County because it's closer and has access to the interstate but the runway is too narrow for their corporate jets.

Wayne Deckard: We may need 10-15 people to store barbeque for a couple of days then pre-warm it.

Pam Leucht: Why don't we warm them on the large cookers?

Wayne Deckard: We could do that. Get the food on Thursday and keep it in the ice chest to thaw in the maintenance hangar then pan warm it before the event.

Wayne Deckard: Menu should be pre-cooked barbecue, pre-cooked hambers, hotdogs, etc. Don't get as much slaw and potato salad this year.

Charles Westerfield: Get dumpster emptied one day earlier the week before the event so there is room once we get the maintenance hangar cleaned out.

Roy Dawes motioned to adjourn; Wayne Deckard seconded. All in favor. Meeting adourned.

Minutes respectfully submitted by Michael Mossman, Association Secretary
