Wayne Deckard brought the meeting to order at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Wayne Deckard: This is our first meeting after the election. I will be starting with a safety session. The AOPA and FAA want more discussion about midair collisions because of the crash over the Hudson River. One communication issue is being sure to call in to a tower before you enter the controlled air space. A Bloomington Airport controller threatened to bust a pilot who called in at 9 miles, when the requirement was 10 miles. The FAA wants controllers and pilots to tightened up with communication. The FAA is trying to get the chatter out of controlled fields.

John Saalwaechter: Your transponder shows where you are as an unconfirmed aircraft.

Wayne Deckard: INDOT sent a letter stating that we must confirm that the lights work. When they came to check on the field it was during the day, and the lights won't come on because of the photocell. Further requirements are that we cut down the trees on the north end of the runway. We only have to cut down the trees on the south side of the creek. We will need to trim the trees within 100 feet of the runway centerline.

Roy Dawes: I will bring a sycle bar for the tractor to clean up at the north end.

Chuck Leucht: My plane will be ready for its first flight in a couple of months.

Chad Williams: Be sure to watch out for meadowlarks. I had damage to a wing after hitting some in flight.

Chad Williams: John Komnick and Jim Kouns installed a new windsock on the maintenance hangar. Jim Kouns and Steve McClure installed a light on the north-end windsock. The north-end windsock marks the end of the grass runway at night. Jim Kouns and Chad Williams ran weedeaters and sprayed around the lights.

Erick Roldan: At 10 p.m. one night the door was open and the key was on the switch for the fuel pump. Two pickup trucks were on the property but they left before I got to them.

Chad Williams: No fuel is known to be missing.

Chad Williams motioned that the club host its fall cook out on September 19; Charles Westerfield seconded. All votes were in favor, none opposed. The cookout is open to members and their immediate guests The cookout will start after the club business meeting that day, with food served at about 6 p.m.

Chad Williams treasurer's report: The club has $6,078.10, which includes collections for fuel. We have about 500 gallons of fuel in the tanks. With the amount of flying that Brentco is doing, this will last a week or less. The members are doing OK on rents and fuel bills. Most are caught up but a few are falliing behind.

Roy Dawes: Fuel price is $4.05 per gallon. We may be without fuel in a week or two. Expect that the next batch to take a couple of weeks for delivery.

John Saalwaechter: Do we have any interest in the club license plates?

Chuck Leucht: We need to get someone to design a logo.

Chad Williams: I will ask if my dad's business can make them.

Chad Williams motioned to adjourn; Kristen Henke seconded. All votes were in favor of adjournment.

Minutes respectfully submitted by Michael Mossman, Association Secretary
