Club President Ray Rice brought the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m.

Volunteer Recognition — Ray Rice offered the club's thanks to Chad Williams and family for removing the old carpet in the operations building, to Earl Brosman and Steve McClure for re-doing the ceiling, and Steve McClure for installing the baseboards. Additionally, Earl Brosman and Mark Poliak spray painted the exteriors of hangars 7 and 10; the rest of the building has recently been painted to match the new hangar building.

Operations Building Update — A friend of Ray Rice donated a table for the meeting room, which will be eventually used in the flight training room. The club will be getting another table that was purchased on CraigsList of $75. The table is 4 x 10 feet and will be used in the meeting room. Don Geisler paid for the new carpet and installation.

Property Improvements — John Derado is researching the costs of properly marking the taxi lines and will report his findings to the club at a future meeting. Mark Rinehart asked if the club would be able to build a sidewalk from the parking lot to the Operations Building and to the fuel equipment.

Hangar Rent Marketing Strategy — Ray Rice's goal is to fill all of the hangars; we have eleven slots to fill. New angle is to entice aircraft owners to bring their favorite toy and hang out with us. We are in the process of making our operations building the coolest club house. Other needs: repair hangars, re-set post foundations on some of the hangars. Also discussed: renting to owners of RV's, boats, etc. Michael Mossman suggested that if the club were to pursue that we should move some airplanes so that there is not a mix of aircraft and non-aircraft in a hangar.

Club Marketing — The club discussed various ways to attract more pilots (and potentially more tenants) to the field. Among items discussed: market to taildraggers, gliders, drones, additonal activities for the airport; fly-in on Saturdays, have member volunteers to hang out on those days; participation in the Fourth of July parade, handing out flyers; social media. John Saalwaechter volunteered to help with phone calls.

Drones — The club discussed drone operation and the possibilities of attracting a drone club to the airport. We are looking for more EAA chapters in Indiana that are drone clubs, and trying to find ways for any club that wants to base here to help pay the property rent.

Flight School — The club is setting up a Not For Profit flight training school, which will be registered as a 501c3 corporation.

Snow Removal — The dump truck does not have working brakes and has a hydraulic leak. The club discussed the feasibility of selling the truck and buying something else. The club also discussed hiring someone for snow removal. The lease states that the property owner will provide snow removal equipment.

Treasurer's Report — Balances: checking account, $3,604.53; general savings, $4,539.10; fuel savings $3,096.93. Dick Gurley reached an agreement with Donovan accounting firm to reduce the bill to $650. The club is $3,200 behind budget for hangar rents due to vacancies. Dick is posting the latest fuel due sheet.

Annual Christmas Party — The annual after-Christmas Party has been set for Saturday, January 14, 2017. Steve McClure motioned to hold it at the Pit Stop Barbecue & Grill in Brownsburg; Dick Gurley seconded. The location agreed upon with a voice vote. Michael Mossman to make arrangements with the restaurant and send out invitations to the members.

Maintenance Hangar — The sign-up for the maintenance hangar will be in the training room. The maintenance hangar has been available on the honor system, many who use it have not been paying. The club does not send invoices; members are asked to pay without being invoiced.

Adjournment — At the close of business Ray Rice declared the meeting adjourned.
