Upcoming Aviation Events — Terre Haute Sky King EAA Chapter is hosting an Aeronca fly-in on Saturday, July 15. Coffee and donuts in the morning, burgers and brats at lunch. Michael Mossman to send an email to club members announcing the event.

Election — The club held its annual election of officers and directors for the following year. Election results:

President, Ray Rice, 15 votes, none against
Vice President, John Saalwaechter, 15 votes, none against
Treasurer, Dick Gurley, 15 votes, none against
Secretary, Michael Mossman, 15 votes, none against
Director, Earl Brosman, 15 votes, none against
Director, Chuck Leucht, 15 votes, none against
Director, Jay Schaumberg, 15 votes, none against

Treasurer's Report — Checking account balance is $5,350.91; general savings balance is $7,030.59; fuel savings balance is $7,877.70. Budget is running at about normal, but hangar rents are ahead of schedule due to some members paying ahead, so that will change the second half of the year. Only one member/tenant is in arrears; he has promised to send some money but we haven't seen anything from him yet. The club has 11 empty hangars out of 40 available. Tax returns are filed; the club didn't owe anything.

Auto Fuel Availability — Dick Gurley got the auto gas tank refilled, the price remains $3.00 per gallon. The auto fuel is 91 octane, alcohol free.

Avgas Fuel System Report — The anodes on the fuel system were consumed so the club bought replacements, which will need to be installed. The members had a discussion about whether to pour concrete over the area to prevent water from entering the tank or just replace the dirt and grass. Earl Brosman reports that there is currently 1.75 inches of water in the north tank the last time he measured it, which was 6-8 months ago. Wayne Deckard and Roy Dawes used to pump water from the north tank after a heavy rain. We have not had a problem with the south tank.

Government Interest In Airport — John Saalwaechter reported that there is no update on the results of meetings with local goverment officials on their interest in the airport.

Airport Drone Operation - John Saalwaechter reports that there is a great deal of interest by younger people on operating drones. He believes that the airport could form a drone club and build a race course on the property due east of the airport (the area that used to be a junk yard). Low-cost models are now available. There is a drone support group that will give pylons and ladders for free to build a race course. Such an area could get kids interested in aviation, as they like to fly drones.

Property Improvements — Discussions have been make about building a concrete patio in front of the operations building, along with a concrete walkway from the ramp to the building, as the area is often wet.

Fly-In — Chuck Leucht would like for the club to host a Biscuits & Gravy fly-in within the next couple of months. Due to constraints of other events the fly-in would need to be before September. Michael Mossman motioned to host the fly-in on August 26, Chuck Leucht seconded the motion; all voted in favor. Menu will be sausage, biscuits and gravy, Titus donuts, plus drinks (juice, coffee and water), served from 8 to 11 a.m. Food will be served in the maintenance hangar. No set price but will will put out a donations jar and ask $6 per person; pilots flying in will eat for free. Michael Mossman will design a flyer and will contact airports within 40 to 50 miles radius. Chuck Leucht will server as the event coordinator.

Airport Promotion — The club now has a Facebook site for Boone County Airport 6I4, along with the regular webside www.booneairport.org. The club held a short discussion on an introductory offer for hangars. No action was taken on this discussion.

Property Maintenance — Earl Brosman said there was need to clean the gravel and rocks off of the runway. Kevin Hoffer volunteered to do it. There is a also a need to spray for weeds and grass growing through the pavement. Dick Gurley motioned to give Don Geisler's employee a $50-gift card for the work he has done for the club. Chuck Leucht seconded; all voted in favor. Dick Gurley motioned to ask him to build a patio and sidewalk. The motioned was seconded; all voted in favor.

Adjournment — Dick Gurley moved to adjourn; the meeting was informally adjourned.
